Hi, welcome to Ceiling Speakers HQ. A little about myself, I am an audio geek by hobby and trade. I grew up wanting to be a rock star, guitar god but was never really all that good on the gat but it turned out that I was good at audio engineering. I have spent a lot of time over the last 20 years behind the mixing console, in the studio or plucking away on my gat.
So why ceiling speakers? Well, like a lot of people I cannot afford to go out and blow 5K on my speakers for home – as much as I would love to and also my house does not have a lot of space for speakers on the floor so speakers have got to go somewhere right? The technology in these speakers has come a long way over the last decade you can now get some great sound from some really small speakers.
I won’t lie to you, a pair of $200 in-ceiling speakers powered from your home theatre amp is not going to sound like a set of fully spec’ed customs running off a pair of mono-block valve amps but that’s not what we are after is it?
The reality is a good set of in-wall or ceiling speakers and a sub is going to give us a great aural experience – if setup correctly.
